Privacy
Last updated: 2026-05-30. Plain-language version — there's no other version. Questions: contact us.
What we collect
- Profile from Strava: your first/last name, profile photo URL, athlete ID.
- Activity data from Strava: recent rides (distance, time, average speed, optional power/suffer scores) used to compute your fitness/freshness. We refresh this on a schedule, not in real time.
- Rides you create or RSVP to in the app: ride title, time, route, attendees.
- Optional: device location (only with your permission, only while you're using the map).
- Diagnostic: build version, device model, OS version — attached to in-app feedback you submit so we can reproduce bugs.
What we don't collect
- Your Strava password (OAuth — we never see it).
- Background location.
- Advertising identifiers.
Who we share data with
- Other riders on a ride you've joined see your name, profile photo, and a flame-tier indicator of your fitness — they don't see raw numbers.
- Google Firebase hosts our backend; data is stored encrypted at rest.
- Anthropic processes group-pace, coach-take, and ride-recap text via API. No personally identifying information is sent — only aggregate fitness numbers and ride context.
- Open-Meteo provides weather; we send only the ride's coordinates and time.
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it. Email via the contact form and we'll wipe your account + associated data within 7 days. Anonymized aggregate stats (e.g. "total rides called this week") may persist.
Children
Call The Ride is not directed at users under 13.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice in the app before they take effect.
